‘Tis the season at Housing Works, but we usually refer to this time of year as the “holidaze.”

The holidays can be very hard and lonely for our participants and people who are currently experiencing homelessness. Our goal for the end of the year was to raise $50,000 to not only provide more services and care for our residents, but to also continue to house folks who are spending the holidays on the streets of Los Angeles.

With everyone’s help, we can continue and expand our enrichment services, buy essential household supplies and furniture for our participants, and house more folks in the new year. Thanks to your past support, we have housed 700 people!

Our Season of Housing project started on Giving Tuesday (11/29), the largest global giving day of the year, and ended on New Year’s Eve (12/31). All donations received in this time frame went towards this effort!

Season of Housing Updates

12/1- Giving Tuesday has come to a close and we raised a total of $3,213.09! Thanks to all of your support, we surpassed the amount we raised last year. THANK YOU!
12/7- This holiday season, Cinema Libre is featuring three powerful documentaries revolving around people experiencing homelessness for FREE, which includes a QR code that benefits Housing Works. Housing Works is featured in one of these films, The Advocates, and we hope you watch it. You can find these films on your favorite streaming devices! 12/12- We hosted our first in-person event in two years to celebrate making it to the end of the year! You can read more about it here along with our other Season of Housing updates.
12/13- We are collaborating with MISA Los Angeles and Urban Quality Living for a holiday fundraiser! You can read more about it here to see how you can give back this season.
12/19- We are selling our first ever Housing Works wall calendars for 2023! We are selling our first ever Housing Works calendar! Our 2023 Housing Works calendars are for sale for $15 for pickups (in Highland Park) and $20 for delivery. These calendars feature stories and photos from this past year. Please email awallace@housingworksca.org to get yours before the new year or use our shop feature to buy online!
